As vessels for the ministry of Jesus Christ we are all called to a holy ministry. The word of
God says, “I Am Holy, Ye be holy also.”   Today not enough teaching and preaching is being
done by the Christian leaders on holy ministry. Too many have gotten away from their first
love Jesus Christ. Too many have not continued to take up their cross daily and follow Jesus.
The five-fold ministry of Ephesians 4:11 must continue the process of sanctification which
when finished leads to “holiness unto the Lord” as vessels wholly sanctified: body, soul and
spirit.

There is a deception that is snaring too many ministers today from continuing the process of
sanctification. The gifting of God measured out through God’s anointing draws people to the
ministry. As such increase from God through such anointing takes place this deception enters
in over a period of time. What is the deception? It is when we become so busy with the
increased blessings that we get away from our first love Jesus. The gifting and anointing,
which are only tools, become idols that are chased after. Our hearts are not continuing to
chase after Jesus our husband. We have gotten away from our first love.

2 Corinthians 7:1 says, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse
ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” To
bring holiness to a state of completion can only be done by “walking after the Spirit” (Romans
8:12) which refers to looking to the cross and looking to the cross exclusively.
What did Jesus mean when he commanded us to take up our cross daily and follow him?
Where did Jesus go and where did he end up? Of course He ended up on the cross. The
process of sanctification is our cross. It is willingly following Jesus to our own sanctification
(dying to the old Adamic nature of sin). Only the blood of Jesus will cleanse us of such
sinfulness. Today too many in the ministry of Jesus have gotten away from the cross and the
blood of Jesus in their own lives. As well, too many have not been preaching and teaching the
cross and the blood (sanctification).

We all have become to busy with the ministry and stopped the most important subject to
ourselves as well as to our congregation. We must fastly return to our first love Jesus and Him
crucified. We must personally seek God and ask Him to continue what He commenced in us of
sanctification (pleading the blood of Jesus over our sins). We must return to the cross and
the blood in our preaching and teaching. As we do then the call to holy ministry will continue
until the fullness of Christ is in us and us in Him. Let’s all repent and take up our cross (the
old Adamic nature of sin) and follow Jesus daily through the cross of death to sin; cleansed
unto a holy people and holy ministry through the blood of Jesus. Yes, we are called to a holy
ministry.
